Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp. light olive oil, or other high-heat cooking oil
- 1/8 tsp black pepper, (or to taste)
- 24 oz salmon filet, boneless and skinless (cut into pieces, 4 oz each)
- 1/2 tsp. seasalt, (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chives, to garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, add together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. This simple yet flavorful sauce will be the star of our honey-garlic glazed salmon. Stir until well combined and set aside.
- Begin by seasoning both sides of your boneless, skinless salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then proceed to lightly coat them in flour by dredging in a shallow plate with 1/4 cup of flour and make sure to shake off any excess.
- Sear the Salmon:
- We need to heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil (such as olive oil or vegetable oil) to the pan.
- Then place the salmon fillets (skin-side down) in the hot pan. You will hear a satisfying sizzle when they hit the oil. Let them cook undisturbed for about 3 to 4 minutes until they develop a golden crust.
- Flip and Glaze:
- Gently flip the salmon fillets using a spatula (turner). Cook for another few minutes to get the skin crisp and the fish cooked through.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Pour in the honey-garlic glaze mixture and add some thinly sliced lemon rounds. Let the sauce reduce by about one-third, basting the salmon with it as it cooks.
- Serve and Garnish:
- When the salmon is cooked to perfection, remove it from the pan.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top to serve and garnish with chopped chives if desired
Serving Ideas:
- This honey-glazed salmon complements perfectly with sides like roasted asparagus, bok choy, or coconut rice, ideal for soaking up every bit of that flavorful sauce.
